Stepping into China Cultural Center in Stockholm on February 11 , visitors were immediately greeted by vibrant Chinese New Year decorations and a Lantern Festival photo spot. Over 150 guests attending the event paused at the entrance to capture these beautiful moments. The exhibition hall is filled with the rich aroma of tea, while national and Zhejiang provincial intangible cultural heritage items – such as sugar painting, rice dough figurines, Xiashi lantern art, shadow puppetry, and woodblock printing – are showcased.

In front of the Haining shadow puppet theater, the captivating stories projected on the screen draw visitors in, inspiring them to craft their own shadow puppet figurine. The mesmerizing string puppet performances earn rounds of applause, and the puppets’ face-changing act leaves the audience in awe. The intricate craftsmanship of Xiashi lantern art brings the colorful lanterns to life with radiant brilliance. Traditional tea ceremonies and trendy bubble tea reflect the blend of tradition and modern China. Visitors eagerly try their hand at sugar figurine spinning and rice dough sculpting, before creating their own multicolor Chinese New Year woodblock prints. Every exhibition booth is packed with curious attendees.
On February 10, a series of culturally rich and Zhejiang-themed Chinese New Year activities were brought to International School of Kungsholmen in Stockholm, offering an extraordinary cultural experience and exchange for approximately 200 students and teachers. The lively atmosphere immersed participants in the charm of Chinese traditions, allowing them to experience the joy and harmony of the festive season. The principal of the school personally wrote a letter of appreciation, expressing gratitude for the wonderful cultural experience. The letter thanked the center for offering students from various countries a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty and blessings of the Chinese New Year.
Over the past two days of the temple fair, many excited attendees shared their joy, describing it as an experience of happiness, culture, and warmth. Immersed in the diverse activities of the fair, they felt as if they were in the heart of a Chinese New Year celebration. Many expressed their hopes of visiting China in person to witness and experience its rich traditions firsthand.

Many attendees proudly held up their handmade woodblock prints, rice dough figurines, shadow puppets, and lanterns as they took photos with Zhejiang’s intangible cultural heritage masters, capturing these wonderful moments as lasting memories.
