Hangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theatre

On January 26, the special gala for the overseas Chinese community, hosted by China Cultural Center in Stockholm, and organized by Sveriges Kinesiska Riksförbund and other local associations, was successfully held at the China Theatre in Stockholm. The event featured a performance by Hangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theatre. More than 1,200 attendees, including the Chinese Ambassador to Sweden, Cui Aimin, and his wife, overseas Chinese living in Sweden, and Swedish friends, attended the event. Ambassador Cui Aimin, and Cui Wei, President of the Hangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, delivered speeches, extending their Chinese New Year greetings to the overseas Chinese community in Sweden.

Artists from Hangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theatre presented a spectacular performance that combined dance, opera, singing, acrobatics, magic, and traditional folk music. The perfect blend of traditional culture and modern art captivated the audience, earning rounds of applause. The entire venue was filled with a festive and joyful atmosphere throughout the event.

According to Cui Wei, the President of Hangzhou Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, this performance showcases traditional Chinese culture, featuring ethnic dances, folk music performances, as well as classic pieces and international award-winning acrobatic acts. The event aims to allow both Chinese and Swedish audiences to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture. It is hoped that through these diverse performances, we can deepen friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, fostering a more promising outlook for future cultural exchanges between the two countries.
