On November 18th, China Cultural Center in Stockholm hosted the Guided Tour & Dialogue between China and Sweden on Comic Arts, followed by two comics workshops with the support of the association Barnens Vänner An2.
The Guided Tour & Dialogue between China and Sweden on Comic Arts attracted many art lovers. The dialogue was hosted by Fredrik von Matérna. Tan Lei, Chinese artist living in Sweden, and Swedish artists Alexis Noakes and Karl Murphy had an in-depth discussion on the characteristics of Chinese and Swedish comics and the impact of AI on artistic creation. Participants learnt about the development trends, cultural connotations and role of Chinese and Swedish comic art in cross-cultural exchanges, and gained a better understanding of the ongoing “Classic and Inheritance – From Traditional Chinese Lianhuanhua to Modern Comic Art Exhibition”.
The comic workshops provide a platform for children who love art creation to interact closely with professional comic artist. In the workshops, participants have the opportunity to learn comic creation techniques, understand the essentials of storytelling, and create works with personal characteristics under the guidance of art teacher.
