Three Exhibition Spaces
Space One – Pure Form
Exhibit Chinese study room in a traditional way as one desk, one chair in one room. The four Chinese traditional precious articles, Writing Brush, Ink Stick, Ink Stone and Rice Paper, along with refined playthings, are exhibited by artworks of artists Fan Zhuo, Jia Wei, Xirong Liu and Zhenyu Gao (pottery), also from works of Pure Form (furniture).
Space Two – Modern Grace China
Inspiration from the silk roll “Listen to the Chinese Zither” by The Emperor Huizong Song of North Song Dynasty, ancient China. In the painting, only pine trees, bamboos and stones are used to describe courtyards. As if harmonious melody is floating through the trees and bamboos. Everything combined and described a scene of under the tree, by the creek, play the zither, listen to the breeze, enjoy the painting and melody, play with strange stones, cloud observation and scent the air. In this exhibition, Chinese modern art artists Jinsong Shi, Jianguo Sui and Fan Shao show scenes of “under the tree”, “listen to the breeze”, “play with strange stones” and “play the zither”. Scenes of enjoy the painting and melody, flower arrangement and scent the air are shown by the Chinese modern art artists Wang Wang, Quan Liang, Linhai Wang, Wentao Liu, Dongying Yang and Wei Tian. The idea of cloud observation is formed from the design of sunlight room top and the 400 years history ancient building combined. Artworks of Chinese modern art artists ingeniously express the implicit and conservative spirit in Chinese culture.
A huge spiritual space is generated by forms of creek-side, bamboo shadow, tea tasting, painting observation, melody listening and air scenting, which are the works of Chinese modern art artists Bing Xu, Yang Shang, Ping Tan, Gang Liu, Zhitian Ren, Hansen (Sweden), Lu Xiao, Dongying Yang, Zeyangping Zhang, Yumo Wu and Pure Form. Variety of artistic styles are presented splendidly. The space expresses the idea of all Chinese people have their unique courtyards in their minds. In this artwork, ideas of people yearn for the pure nature, unrestrained lifestyle, inner peace and harmony are expressed.
