“Pudong Today” exhibition at the Chinese Cultural Center in Stockholm
From June 1st to July 30th 2019, the “Pudong Today” exhibition is exhibited at the China Cultural Center in Stockholm. The exhibition is jointly hosted by the Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government and the Stockholm China Cultural Center.

On June 6, Zhu Di, deputy head of Shanghai Pudong District, led a delegation from the Pudong District Government together with the exhibited artists to hold a symposium on art at the Chinese Cultural Center in Stockholm. More than 60 people from Stockholm university, teachers and students, ordinary Swedish citizens, Chinese students studying in Sweden and Shanghai fellowships attended the event. Chen Xiao, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of China and the Director of the Chinese Cultural Center of Stockholm, presided over the symposium.
Zhu Di introduced that this year is the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up in Shanghai. Since Pudong started development and opening in 1990, Pudong’s GDP has grown from 6 billion yuan to more than 1 trillion yuan. The “Pudong Today” exhibition invited famous painters from all over the country to Pudong to create works, showing the development and opening up of Pudong. Among them, Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Yangshan Deepwater Port, Expo Park, Xinchang Ancient Town, Chuansha Ancient Town and other rich themes have been painted one by one, showing the beauty of Pudong’s development and opening up in the past 29 years, the enthusiasm of the tidal wave, the blooming of flowers and the charm of culture and the harmony of people’s livelihood.
Subsequently, Xu Lizhen, Chairman of the Pudong Artists Association, gave a detailed introduction to the creative process and performance of the exhibition.
In the interactive session, the audience was eager to ask questions. Zhu Di and the artists exchanged views on the development and opening up of Pudong and the artistic expression of the exhibition and the audience.
